How to Prove Your Crypto Balance Without Revealing Your Wallet

Sooner or later everyone who holds crypto has to show it. A seller wants to know you can pay. A community wants to know you are not bluffing. The usual answer is a screenshot or a wallet link, and both have a problem: one is easy to fake, the other hands over your entire financial history.
Why posting your wallet address is a bad idea
A public wallet address is a window into everything that wallet has ever done. Anyone holding it can see your balance, every incoming and outgoing transfer, which services you use and how much you moved last week. Block explorers make this a two-second job.
That is fine for a donation address. It is not fine for the wallet you actually keep your savings in. Showing the address to prove a balance also shows people exactly where to look next time.
Why screenshots do not prove anything
A screenshot of a wallet app is an image. Anybody can edit one in a minute, and the person receiving it has no way to tell. A screenshot that looks convincing is still just a claim with a nice background.
If the other person cannot check it, it is not proof.

What a proof of funds receipt does instead
A proof of funds receipt flips the problem around. You show control of the wallet by sending a tiny payment from it, and a verified balance is read from the public blockchain. The result is a shareable receipt link.
On pof.lol that receipt shows your name, the verified balance, which coin it is and the date it was checked. It never shows the wallet address.
How it works in three steps
- Choose the coin and the wallet you want to prove.
- Send 10¢ from that wallet. Sending from the wallet is what ties the proof to you.
- Get your receipt link and share it in a chat, a DM, a listing or your bio.
What to keep in mind
A pof.lol receipt is a snapshot of the balance at the moment you made the proof. It is not a live balance and it does not promise the funds are still there later.
If the other side needs a deposit to be held at a certain time, ask for a fresh proof right before the deal.
